Pieta?s vision is a world where suicide, self-harm and stigma have
been replaced by hope, self-care and acceptance. Pieta provide a range
of counselling services for people who are suicidal, engage in
self-harm or who are bereaved by suicide. Pieta House also operate a

ROLE:

As a Quality Officer you will develop, deliver and implement a
comprehensive quality and safety framework with associated structures,
policies and processes. This work will improve quality, safety and
service delivery across the organisation creating a safe and
person-centred service for both clients and staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Be responsible for the development and oversight of targeted
improvement initiatives with the relevant stakeholders which will
result in the delivery of better and safer services
* Lead the development and monitoring of improvement strategies to
address quality and safety
* To ensure the quality management system is process-led and focused
on continuous improvement
* Work with managers to design quality improvement programmes /
initiatives, data processing and analysis which will support
implementation and monitoring of quality and client safety
* Oversee the development of policies and procedures to support
effective working in line with legislation, standards and best
practice
* Develop and support systems and processes for incident management
including communication and escalation of serious incidents
* Oversee periodic audits as required for the purpose of assurance
* Develop and manage systems and processes to support and coordinate
clinical audit activity within clinical services and departments
* Develop a process for tracking implementation of recommendations
from major reports, investigations and audits
* Instigate the development of training programmes required to
assist compliance and continuous quality improvement
* Analyse and summarise performance improvement data and report on
findings and outcomes
* Maintain and update the Clinical Risk Register
* Provide advice and support on all aspects of risk and incident
management
* Participate in Incident Management Teams and where required, lead
and support system analysis investigations
* Contribute to the development of performance indicators for risk
management system which can be monitored (quality and safety profile)
* Provide reports on performance in relation to quality and patient
safety
* Participate in collaborative working on initiatives / committees
to ensure integration and implementation of change
* Have a working knowledge of Standards (e.g. Safer Better
Healthcare; Best Practice Guidance for Suicide Prevention), and comply
with associated protocols for implementing and maintaining these
standards as appropriate to the role

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

* A relevant third level qualification in health, social care, early
years, business administration or other areas relevant to the role

* Proven experience within the area of systems and processes and
procedures
* Experience with writing policies and procedures for health and
safety and knowledge of legislation
* Proficient in MS Office and strong reporting/data analysis skills
* Working knowledge of safety management information system
* Demonstrated organisational, problem solving and communication
skills
